Cat Bay is a surf spot on Phillip Island. Consider 1h30min drive from Melbourne. Go to Phillip Island, follow the signs to Penguine Parade and after the Penguine you have two carparks.

The first carpark is the real Cat Bay. Waves are pretty big and not suggested for beginners like me.

The second carpark is the good one. The perfect waves breaks left and right giving plenty of rides both to Malibu riders and Shortboarders. I learned to surf on this wave. The regulars are never too hard to the beginners.

You can surf this spot when all the other areas are close, that means: big swell (2 mt on the open beaches) and S,S/W,S/E winds. Specially in Summer is a place to check.
